Welcome to eSureITy - Business Continuity Planning

Business Continuity Planning

Business continuity planning (BCP) is a key component to business success and survivability. It can no longer remain the concern of the IT department alone. How do you determine the continuity and recovery requirements of your business? How do you identify and integrate critical business and IT priorities into a comprehensive continuity program? Where do you start?

Business Continuity Planning, not unlike security, is a process, not a project or a product. In order to achieve real success in Disaster Recovery, a process should be implemented to develop attainable strategy solutions that grow and change with the company. Additionally, these strategies have to be developed in a process that allows and promotes the business process managers to take ownership in the plan and it’s success.  It is also important to understand that while Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery have many overlapping concepts, they are indeed separate and unique processes and should be treated as unique entities. With proper Business Continuity planning, it is highly probable that disaster recovery plans could and should go un-executed for years. However, if and when the levels of business continuity drop below optimal levels, it is imperative that the Disaster Recovery Teams know what, when and how to recovery quickly and efficiently.

Our Business Continuity Planning processes are tried and true. Our location in Central Florida has allowed our team multiple instances to exercise both our internal Disaster Recovery Plans and the plans of hundreds of our customers during the last 10 major Hurricanes that have come through our area. Simply put, we know what works, and we know what doesn’t. This first hand experience allows our team a unique perspective on both Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery. While our efforts are heavily geared to proper Business Continuity Planning, we know from first hand experience that Disaster Recovery Planning is a necessary and useful requirement for Business Continuity and Critical Infrastructure Protection.

Each of our BCP Consultants are Certified Business Continuity Professionals (CBCP) or Master Certified Business Continuity Professionals (MCBCP). In addition to our experience requirements, this benchmark certification ensures that your assessor is both trained and experience to perform your Disaster Recovery planning and testing functions.  Our Table Top and simulation tests feature real world scenarios from simple tasks such as IT resource outages to full scale loss of physical plant to regional disasters. From ports of call to ports on a switch, the testing and planning process is designed
